Always an I, Never a One
Interdisciplinary Collaboration, 2017
Always an I, never a one is born out of collaboration between artists, architects, designers and composers. As such, the resulting piece is a multi-sensory performance object - it combines aural, architectonic, tactile and kine-aesthetic modalities. It is a performance object in the sense that the structure itself serves as a platform for the action - the performance - of the public. The object is designed with an intention to provide a frame for personal experience, which is an individual take-away.
This piece was already shown in Atelier Hotel Pro Forma, (Copenhagen, 2017), Post Gallery (Kaunas, 2017), Yaga Gathering (Varena forest, 2017), 1:1 artist residency (Indrajai lake, 2017) and Kanepes Kulturas Centrs (Riga, 2017).
The contributors for the original design of the piece are: Anja Tietze Lahrmann, Astrid Stjernholm, Bjørn Dam Larsen, Joanna Wojciechowicz, Mai Ane Pil Siendentopp, Matteo Cantarella, Sissel Sønderskov, and Tadas Stalyga. The original piece was funded by Atelier Hotel Pro Forma.
At the present a new design - Dwelling #01 - is being prepared in collaboration with the Lithuanian Performative Design Association, and the production is due to commence in late 2018.
